legendpaul.com : IT Pay Rise during Recession...

A new study shows that while pay for IT skills has fallen by 0.5% overall during the first three months in 2009, Pay for 46 skill sets actually raised in value.

Linux pay grew the most, jumping 28.6%, followed by Apache Web server (25%); Sybase Adaptive Server (25%) and Java J2EE/SE/ME (20%). I think its time to get the Java book out and start coding!

legendpaul.com : The story of The World Of Goo...

Recently there has been growing popularity for indie games, and one - "World of Goo" even earned the No. 1 rank on Amazon's top ten best-selling PC games.

There is an interesting story behind the making of the World of Goo, it was developed by just two guys, with no money, just a lot of hard work. They were ex-Electronic Arts employees, but created the game while sitting in WiFi enabled coffee shops in San Francisco, the game now has 11.5 million subscribers.

The latest development platforms including iPhone apps, Nintendo's Wiiware, and the XBox 360 arcade have created an opportunity for small developers to access a large consumer base in a way that has never been possible.

legendpaul.com Considering : Retro Remakes Mini-Comp...

Having considered, but never entered a Retro Remakes competition, its time to contemplate developing a new retro styled PC game based on a TV series, and then submit (and obviously win) the competition. If you would like more information, or to enter the competition (no prizes have been announced as of yet) then visit the Retro Remakes website.

"...this time the theme would be create a game based on a tv programme. It doesn't matter how new/old/obscure the tv programme, just make a game based on it. If you want to remake an existing tv based game then go for it. If you just want to use certain elements from a series (eg. StarBug from Red Dwarf as the player in a Space Invaders game) then that's fine too." - RetroRemakes.com

legendpaul has new work in progress...

The game engine used to create 3D TIc and Goal Keeper Challenge is in the process of being modified recently to try and accomodate a fighting game. So far i have modeled the fighting arena and created textures for a couple of fighters. The only movement at the moment is by the game camera which can be controlled using the keyboard.

Please note it is still in the first stages of development and currently only allows the player to move around the camera. It is an untitled fighting game which I have recently been working on. Development will be slow at the moment so do not expect anything spectacular for a while.

legendpaul.org.uk please be patient!

After four long University years, it is finally over. Please wait for any legendpaul.org.uk website updates, i am way too overloaded at the moment. I have completed webmail for legendpaul.org.uk and have many more functions which i just havent had time to add to the homepage yet. As you would of noticed most links either do not work, or lead to nothing, this is because of my current lack of time, but will be sorted out soon. I have many old university projects to upload, including a visual basic web browser, and some java apps which incorporate XML.

legendpaul.org.uk hits the Internet

After weeks of hard work the legendpaul.org.uk website is up and ready for business on the Internet. Lets hope this great website can prove to be a success!
